The Iraqi Ministry of Health announced, on Wednesday, that it recorded 79 deaths and 2,200 new cases of the new Coronavirus in the past 24 hours, at the highest rate since the outbreak of the pandemic in the country.

In a statement, the ministry said that 11,445 tests have been conducted in Iraq today. Thus, the total number of tests since the beginning of the pandemic in Iraq is 477433.

The statement continued that the total number of infections since the spread of the virus until the issuance of this statement amounted to 36,702 infections, the total number of recovery cases amounted to 16,814 cases, 18,558 cases are in the hospitals, those who are in intensive care 281 cases, and the total deaths reached 1,330.
