Dr Hadi Ali, head of politburo of Kurdistan Islamic Union in an exclusive interview with KurdIU talks about the political situation in Iraq and the location of Kurds in the Political process.
Dr. Hadi Ali declares that the political process of Iraq goes through a difficult and complex situation. He said: it is last four months but entities are not agreed. We believe that there is no hope to form a new government in a normal situation.
Head of KIU politburo mentioned that the visit of Mr. vice president, Biden, to Iraq and a delegation of Congress were to solve the situation of Iraq.
Dr. Hadi said: Biden went to the US and we couldn’t see any impact of his visit.
He declared that the Kurds are not the potential part, but the State of Law and Iraqi National Accord are the potential part.
In his perspective, the real problem is about Prime Minister’s post. The Shiites are not agreeing to give up of this post and they will not give the post to any other entities. Arabic countries, Turkey and the US are wondering Allawi become the Prime Minister. Despite of that, they know that Allawi cannot form a government and the parliament will not support him as Prime Minister, because Shiites are the largest group in the parliament.
He declared that Kurds have not decided yet to support wich candidates, whether to support Allawi, Maliki or any other candidates.
Dr. Hadi Ali said that it is true that Kurds saying they do not have veto on any candidates but I think they like to change Maliki to another candidate like Adel Abdul Mahdi or others.
He mentioned that Kurds have some conditions to sign agreement with other lists. The first one is the issue of Article 140 and disputed areas. The second one is solving disputes between Kurdistan Regional Government and Central Government and some other issues that have not been solved by other governments in Iraq. If any party or alliance promised Kurds to solve these issues Kurds will sign agreement and form a coalition.
