The Islamic Movement in Kurdistan chose (Irfan Ali) a guide them in the last election conducted by the movement around this position.

In the conference elections (Irfan Al)i competed four candidates for the position , he got three hundred and twenty-six votes, Mullah Mohammad Omar got one hundred and forty-three votes, while Kamil Haji Ali got  sixty-one votes, and Mullah Sidiq got forty-six votes.
