Source within the Sadr bloc, via telephone to Sharaqulawsat newspaper said that "the mass-Sadr stepped up his efforts with the political blocs to form the next government, or the withdrawal of the confidence of the Maliki government or work for early elections".

 A member of the Sadr list said "we initially agreed on the nomination (Qusay Suhail) as the next prime minister instead Nouri al-Maliki".

 The official added that "the Sadr list have agreed with the Kurdistan Alliance and the Iraqi List, and some of the blocks within the National Alliance to form the next government by Sadr bloc".
