At least 11 killed in train collision in southern Italy

At least 11 people have been killed Tuesday in a collision between two commuter trains in the Puglia region, in southern Italy, the country's main news agency reported.

The crash took place between the districts of Corato and Andria, leaving at least 11 people dead and 18 others wounded according to initial reports, Italian news agency ANSA said.

“The situation is dramatic,” vice president of the Puglia region, Antonio Nunizante, was quoted as saying by ANSA.

Several passengers are said to still be stuck inside the trains, reported the news agency.
