258 cases of violence against women in the Kurdistan Region

The Directorate General for Combating Violence against Women has announced a statistics on violence against women in the Kurdistan Region during the past six months.

The Directorate General for Combating Violence Against Women (CEDAW) said in a statement said that 258 cases of violence against women in the past six months have been recorded, including murder, suicide, arson and sexual assault.

The statement added that 22 women were killed, 32 committed suicide, 99 women died of burning, 58 were burned and 47 were sexually assaulted.
