The Kurdistan Regional Government is scheduled to hold a joint meeting next week with the Kurdistan Parliament and the Independent Electoral Commission in the region to set a deadline for holding legislative elections in the region.
The meeting will also discuss cleaning of the electoral lists as many of the parliamentary blocs in Kurdistan has called on in several occasions to carry out this process before conducting elections.
The Council of Ministers of Kurdistan held on Thursday a meeting with the Electoral Commission .
According to an informed source, the Electoral Commission has asked the government to provide 15 - 17 million dollars for the elections, and assistance by relevant parties in the government.
The source added that the government and the Electoral Commission also agreed to set the date to be limited from 1 to 15 of the month of April this year.
