Kurdish delegation to visit Baghdad to negotiate on forming the new government

Informed political sources said on Sunday that a Kurdish delegation will arrive in Baghdad soon to negotiate with the political parties on the formation of the new Iraqi government headed by Adel Abdul Mahdi.

The sources said that "a Kurdish delegation will arrive in Baghdad this week to negotiate with the leaders of the political blocs in order to agree to give Kurds 4 portfolios, including the Ministry of Finance."

"It is scheduled to meet the Kurdish delegation with the Iraqi political parties separately, concludes its visit to meet Prime Minister-designate Adel Abdul-Mahdi."

Added that "the delegation will also seek to meet with President Barham Saleh and Prime Minister outgoing Haider Abadi before leaving Baghdad towards Erbil, capital of the Kurdistan Region."
