Both the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) and the federal government on Saturday reopened the main road between Dohuk and Sinjar.
The dirt barriers that had been erected after the events of 16 October 2017 were removed on the road.
The road was reopened in the presence of representatives of the federal government and the Kurdistan Regional Government.
Citizens in the area during the opening ceremony of the road called on the federal governments and the Kurdistan region to reopen all closed roads between the two sides.
Media sources said that a committee has been formed by the Kurdistan Regional Government and the federal government and there will be check points from both sides to secure the road.
