PUK imposes difficult conditions for the formation of the Kurdistan Regional Government

An informed source, Tuesday, revealed the conditions of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan to participate in the formation of the Kurdistan Regional Government, while pointed out that there are expectations of the rejection of the Democratic Party for most of those conditions.

Al-Sharq al-Awsat newspaper quoted the source as saying that "the ruling parties of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan and the Kurdistan Democratic Party held a meeting yesterday to discuss the complex political issues on the distribution of posts and the formation of the Kurdistan Regional Government," noting that "the Patriotic Union put in the meeting on its project on forming a government, "the source said.

The source, who asked not to be named, said that "the most prominent of these proposals the formation of an independent Supreme Court, similar to the Federal Supreme Court in Baghdad, whose task is to resolve the intractable issues of political forces, especially the two ruling parties, and the formation of a financial body, to manage the financial file of the Territory in all its details, as well as the call for the reorganization of foreign relations at the level of Iraq and other countries, in a transparent manner for all parties.

Added that "the Patriotic Union also called for the formation of a committee to normalize the situation in Kirkuk, in preparation for the election of a new governor."

The source predicted to reject KDP most of these conditions.

The two ruling parties in the Kurdistan region , Kurdistan Democratic Party and the Patriotic Union on Monday held a meeting in Erbil at the level of the Political Bureau, involving the officials of the intelligence services in both parties, to discuss details of the formation of the provincial government.

On the other hand, a senior delegation of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) ended a meeting with a delegation of the Change Movement on Tuesday.

A delegation from the Democratic Party led by Nechirvan Barzani, the party's deputy head, arrived in Sulaymaniyah and held a meeting with the Change Movement headed by its general coordinator, Omar Sayed Ali.

According to available information, the meeting resulted in the agreement of the two sides to form a special committee to prepare the program of the Kurdistan Regional Government and the next proposals to form.
