Iraq unites customs duties with Kurdistan Region

The Committee of Economic Affairs, Wednesday, announced the adoption of important decisions to consolidate customs duties at all border crossings, including the crossings of the Kurdistan region, and the customs points in Kirkuk.

On Wednesday, the second session of the Economic Affairs Committee held , chaired by Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs and Minister of Finance Fouad Hussein.

A statement by the Office of the Minister of Finance said"The Committee of Economic Affairs has taken its decision to standardize tariffs at all border crossings , including the crossings of the Kurdistan region, this decision has great economic importance through the payment of customs duties and a uniform tax at all outlets, and regulates the flow of goods and goods The promotion of trade and the unification of import licenses, documents and ratifications required in this regard. "

The statement added, "The Commission also decided to cancel the current customs inspection points in (Faydia, Serawa north of Kirkuk, Liylan east of Kirkuk), which encourages and develops the internal trade and the flow of materials and goods inside Iraq.

Explaining that "the above decisions were taken after a series of meetings between specialists in the federal government and the Kurdistan Regional Government."
