KIU bloc demands compensation for those affected by floods

The Kurdistan Islamic Union bloc in the Kurdistan parliament , on Tuesday, demanded compensation for those affected by the flash floods that swept a number of areas in the Kurdistan region.

A member of the Kurdistan Islamic Union bloc, Abubaker Haladny said in a statement to Kurdiu said that "The Kurdistan Regional Government must compensate those affected by the flash floods and provide the necessary services for them," adding that, "Because of the neglect of the government and shortening and the lack of plan these incidents repeated every year. "

"A joint committee must be formed by parliament and provincial councils to determine damage caused by the floods and compensate the affected people as soon as possible," he said.

He pointed out that "the Kurdistan Regional Government did not send the budget of the region to parliament for 5 yers ago" explaining that "must allocate part of the budget for natural disasters."
