The city of Karbala, woke up today, Thursday, to a horrific crime, which is a father killed his four children by burning them by petrol because of family disputes with his wife.

A statement to the Karbala police today announced that after an accident, occurred in the Al-Hur district in the Al-Askari neighborhood, and as a result of the seriousness of the accident, Karbala Police Commander Major General Ahmed Ali Zwaini directed the formation of a work team to uncover the circumstances of the accident.

"After investigating the murderer about the causes of the crime, he admitted that there were family disputes with his wife because she wanted to divorce, and then she left the house. Then the perpetrator closed the door on his four children, During their sleep, and after that, he sprayed gasoline in the room and burned them.

The statement noted that the accused’s confessions were ratified, both initially and judicially, and he will be referred to the judiciary after the completion of the investigation stages to obtain his fair punishment.
