The Iraqi prime minister is determined to hold the elections

An adviser to the Iraqi Prime Minister announced that Al-Kazemi is determined to hold early elections.

Hussein Al-Hindawi, Iraqi Prime Minister’s advisor for election affairs, today, Thursday, 2 July 2020, in a press statement announced that Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi is determined to hold early and fair elections according to international standards and the Parliament is responsible for postponing it.

He added that the new law for the parliamentary elections has not been completed yet, and the political blocs must discuss the new system and the electoral list.

The advisor revealed that Parliament is the main party to amend the election law, and we, as a government, have made proposals to Parliament, and we are awaiting a vote on it.
