An earthquake measuring 5 on the Richter scale today, Sunday, struck the Khanaqin area and its suburbs.

The Department of Seismic Sciences at Tehran University announced today, Sunday, August 9, 2020, that an earthquake measuring 5.1 on the Richter scale hit the Khanaqin area and its suburbs.

The department indicated that the earthquake was 8 km deep from the ground and was felt from Ilam, Kermanshah, and Garmian.

There is no news about the damage caused by the earthquake.
