The Iraqi Council of Ministers decides to prevent the import of gold through the airports of Basra, Erbil, and Sulaymaniyah and the director of Sulaymaniyah airport considers the decision as political.

According to Iraqi news agencies, the Iraqi Council of Ministers decided to ban the import of gold from Erbil, Sulaymaniyah, and Basra airports.

For his part, Director of Sulaymaniyah Airport Taher Abdullah on the decision of the Iraqi Council of Ministers in a statement announced that the decision is political and there is a goal behind the decision.

He added that the Kurdistan Regional Government must negotiate with Baghdad and solve the problem, the decision to prevent the import of gold through the airports of the Kurdistan Region inflicts economic damage in the Kurdistan Region and the level of trade in the region will decrease significantly.
