The Iranian Army Chief of Staff will arrive in Baghdad for a two-day visit to meet with prominent Iraqi officials to discuss a range of issues.

According to Iranian television, General Muhammad Bagheri, Chief of Staff of the Iranian army, arrives today, Sunday, in Baghdad on a two-day visit, during which he will meet with prominent Iraqi officials and discuss with them the killing of Qassem Soleimani and Abu Mahdi Al-Muhandis.

Bagheri's visit to Iraq is the first of its kind, especially after the escalation of tensions between the US and Iran in Iraq.

It is worth noting that Bagheri's visit to Iraq coincides with the sudden arrival of the Iraqi foreign minister to Tehran to meet with Iranian President Hassan Rouhani and Iranian Parliament Speaker Muhammad Baqer Qalibaf.
