Ministry of Health in the Kurdistan Region, Wednesday, revealed that 50 deaths of doctors and workers in health institutions were recorded as a result of their infection with the Coronavirus, out of more than 2,000 infected.

"The number of people infected with coronavirus from doctors, health workers in the Ministry of Health and volunteers is increasing sharply," the ministry's spokesman, Aso Hwezi, said in a press statement, adding that "the largest number of infected people is concentrated in the Erbil governorate, which is close to 1100 people, and then after Sulaymaniyah, in which the number exceeded 750, while Dohuk recorded 580 cases and 15 in Halabja.

Hwezi indicated, "The infected within the health staff are going through different conditions and stages, some of them are undergoing treatment with artificial respirators, some of them are in the monitoring room, and 50 of them have died in general."
