Citizens of the Kurdistan Region and Iraq are ranked second in the asylum application

The Iraqi Migrants Union revealed that more than 96 thousand immigrants have been arrested in the past ten months at the Turkish borders, out of this number, 2271 immigrants were citizens of the Kurdistan Region and Iraq.

According to a statement by the Iraqi Migrants Union, during the past ten months, 96,590 immigrants were arrested at the water and land borders of Turkey and were intending to immigrate to European countries, of this number, 2271 immigrants were citizens of the Kurdistan Region and Iraq.

Added 122 immigrants died this year in the Aegean Sea between Turkey and Greece. The Union revealed that citizens of the Kurdistan Region and Iraq are in second place to seek international asylum.
