Executive Council of the Kurdistan Islamic Union held a special meeting yesterday, Sunday, chaired by the Secretary-General, which addressed the crisis situation in the Kurdistan region and the issue of employee salaries.

The council issued a statement saying, "The meeting was held to discuss the crisis situation in the Kurdistan region and the salaries of employees in particular after the passage of the borrowing law in the Iraqi parliament without paying the region's financial dues."

The statement added that "the response of the Kurdistan Regional Government to the accumulated crises is very cold and full of indifference and has not taken serious steps to get out of this dangerous crisis".

Stressed that "the Kurdistan Islamic Union calls on the Kurdistan Regional Government to activate all its channels to reorganize the internal resources and to conclude a final agreement with the federal government as soon as possible to secure the employees' salaries on a monthly basis without delay and deductions."
