Erbil demands Baghdad to secure its rights and financial dues

Kurdistan Regional Government called on the federal government to secure the region's financial rights and dues.

A statement issued by the Presidency of the Kurdistan Regional Government stated: These statements came at a meeting of the Supreme Economic Council, today, Tuesday, 12 January 2021, under the supervision of the President of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Masrour Barzani.

The statement added; The meeting discussed the general lines of the region's budget bill for the year 2021, and the ongoing reform process in the Kurdistan region was also evaluated.

Indicated that the Ministers of Finance and Economy, Awat Sheikh Janab, and Planning Dara Rashid, presented a report on the current financial situation and the ongoing preparations regarding preparing the draft budget for 2021.

The statement continued; The Prime Minister stressed the importance of solving the outstanding problems with the federal government, saying: The regional government has fulfilled all its constitutional duties, and therefore the federal authorities must secure the rights and financial dues for the region within the framework of the federal budget project for 2021.
