The Kurdistan Counter-Terrorism Service denied on Sunday, participating in the assassination of the former commander of the Iranian "Quds Force", Qassem Soleimani.
"A report was published accusing indirectly a number of Kurdish officers in the assassination of General Qassem Soleimani, and on the other hand, the name of counter-terrorism in the Kurdistan region was mentioned," the Kurdistan Region Counter-Terrorism Service said in a statement on Sunday.
Added, "We categorically deny participation of counter-terrorism forces in this operation."
The position comes in response to new details about the incident published by the British "Daily Mail" newspaper, hours ago.
The details stated that "Kurdish agents wore a baggage handler uniform at Baghdad International Airport to welcome General Soleimani and prove his identity upon landing at the airport."
