The Iraqi Ministry of Agriculture announced that bringing sick chickens illegally and the migration of birds to Iraq is behind the spread of bird flu in Iraq.

Hamid Nayef, a spokesman for the Iraqi Ministry of Agriculture, revealed the reason for the spread of bird flu in Basra province and announced the arrival of bird flu in Basra due to the migration of birds all over the world to Iraq and the illegal bringing of smuggled materials such as sick chickens and fodder.

The spokesman added that this disease is not transmitted to humans and they have taken the necessary measures.
