A new ground operation for the Turkish army inside the territory of the Kurdistan region

Security sources in Dohuk reported, on Monday, that the Turkish army launched a ground operation with the aim of reaching a position of PKK militants in the province.

The sources said, "Turkish ground forces began combing the hills overlooking the village of Kistah in the Kani Masi district of Amadiyah area, north of Dohuk, very close to a tunnel of the Kurdistan Workers' Party."

They pointed out that the Turkish forces reached an area facing the tunnel, which is called the "Hevsi-Kuri Tunnel" with the aim of destroying it.

It is noteworthy that the Turkish army had destroyed a tunnel of the Kurdistan Workers' Party last month and is seeking to destroy the other tunnel in the village of Kiste.

The Turkish army had established fixed military points in the heights of the village of Kiste in the Kani Masi district, since the start of its military operation on the 23rd of last April.
