On Thursday, 40 people were killed and 120 wounded, including children and American soldiers, in the double explosion that took place around Hamid Karzai Airport in the Afghan capital, Kabul.
The US State Department said, in statements, reported by the "Disclose" website, that "at least 4 Americans are among the dead and wounded" in the explosion.
Meanwhile, the Taliban announced that the explosion that occurred at the eastern gate of the airport, known as "Abi," resulted in "at least 40 people dead, including children," according to the US Al-Hurra channel.
In this context, a US official, whose identity was not revealed, told the American newspaper "Politico" that "ISIS is behind the explosion."
It is noteworthy that the US embassy in Kabul, which is based at the airport, "demanded all American nationals avoid Hamid Karzai airport and to stay away from its surroundings."
