The Turkish Ministry of Defense announced, on Sunday, the killing of a soldier and the injury of another during the "claw of lightning" operation in the Kurdistan region, against the Kurdistan Workers' Party.

It said in a statement that an armed attack targeted a Turkish army base in the Kurdistan region, killing a Turkish soldier and wounding another.

Stressed that the Turkish forces responded immediately to the sources of the attack that targeted the military base.

On April 23, Turkey launched operations "claw of Tiger" and "claw of lightning" against the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) in the areas of "Matina" and "Afshin-Basyan", in the Kurdistan region.
