Al-Kadhimi casts his vote minutes after the start of the parliamentary elections

On Sunday, Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi cast his vote in the first minutes of the voting process, in the Karkh side area in the capital, Baghdad, and urged Iraqis, in media statements, to quickly participate in voting.

During a press conference after his vote, Al-Kadhimi said that he personally supervises the plan to secure polling stations across the country, calling on his citizens to participate in the vote to "make the required change in the country."

Al-Kadhimi said: "I called for early elections, and we set the sixth of June 2021, and some requested a postponement until 2022, but I refused, and then we set the tenth of October 2021."

Al-Kadhimi continued, "I personally supervised the security plan for the elections, and tomorrow we will announce a major security achievement," calling on voters to "go out for broad participation in the elections."

Al-Kadhimi stressed that "the security situation is stable, and the voters should be reassured during the vote," and urged them to participate in order to "make the required change."
