Kurdistan Security Council announces the arrest of a group that intended to carry out terrorist operations

The Security Council of the Kurdistan Region announced, on Monday, the arrest of a terrorist group affiliated with the Kurdistan Workers Party, which was planning to attack dams, government institutions, and public places in the region.

In a statement, the council stated that "a terrorist group affiliated with the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) was arrested, intend to attack dams, government institutions and public places in the Kurdistan region."

ِAdded that "the operation took place on May 4 and resulted in the arrest of a terrorist group affiliated with the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) in the Dohuk Governorate, 9 Katyusha rockets (107 mm), as well as launchers, were seized."

The council indicated that "investigations with members of this terrorist group concluded that the (PKK) assigned it to launch missile attacks on (the headquarters of the 17th branch of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, service institutions, the power station, Dohuk Dam, and other public places)."
