Sadrist MPs submit their resignations

On Sunday, the leader of the Sadrist movement in Iraq, Muqtada al-Sadr, called on deputies of the Sadrist bloc to submit their resignations from the Iraqi Parliament.

Al-Sadr said in a statement, "The head of the Sadrist bloc, Hassan Al-Adhari, should submit the resignations of the bloc's deputies to the Speaker of the Parliament, with great thanks to them for what they have provided in this short period, so may Allah reward them with the best reward."

Muqtada al-Sadr added: "Also, we thanks our allies in the Alliance to Save a Homeland for their patriotism and steadfastness."

He continued, "This is a special thanks to our cousin, Jaafar al-Sadr, who was our independent candidate for prime minister."

Al-Sadr considered this step a sacrifice from him for the sake of Iraq and the people to rid them of the unknown fate, as they sacrificed previously for the liberation of Iraq, its sovereignty, security, prosperity and stability.
