Kirkuk health department issues guidelines against the spread of cholera

The General Directorate of Health of Kirkuk after recording the first case of cholera in the city warned of further spread of the epidemic if the precautionary measures are not followed, the main one is the transmission of the disease through water that does not meet hygiene conditions.

The Kirkuk General Directorate of Health said in a statement Saturday that they call for more preventive measures against the spread of cholera, especially the transmission of the disease through water that does not meet the conditions of hygiene.

They also asked citizens to try to use clean water sources for drinking, if clean water is not available, chlorine should be added to the water or boiled, and with hand hygiene and washing with soap and water, not eating food on carts and uncovered food.

It is worth mentioning that Dr. Sabah Hawrami, Director General of Health in Sulaimani, said that due to the increase in cases of diarrhea and vomiting, they had to allocate another hospital to care for patients.
