The chairman of the leadership council of the KIU about the killing of two university professors by a student in Erbil announced
that the main reason for the increase in murder crimes in the Kurdistan Region is the non-implementation of the death penalty.

“The main reason for the increase in murder crimes in the Kurdistan Region is due to the weakening of the rule of law, and not carrying out the death penalty, and not showing mercy to criminals at the expense of violating the rights of victims at the hands of criminals.” Dr. Hadi Ali, chairman of the leadership council of the Kurdistan Islamic Union said.

Two university professors were killed by a student on Tuesday, causing a reaction in Kurdish society.
