Nineveh provincial council announced several cases of foot and mouth disease have been reported in one of the cattle farms.

Mohammed Arif, a member of the Nineveh provincial council, told Baghdad Al-Youm on Sunday in the Kokjali area around Mosul, dozens of cases of foot and mouth, a viral disease that causes death among cattle, have spread in recent days. The council member said the situation is under treatment and control and infected cows are constantly being treated.

He also mentioned “The disease causes a lot of damage to their owners, so the veterinary hospital is working to control the disease and prevent it from spreading to other places. he added, “We have submitted a request to the prime minister to compensate the affected people, especially the people of Kokceli, whose area is considered the main cattle breeding area and the economy of thousands of families,”.

He added that the Nineveh Provincial Council is working in coordination with the Veterinary Hospital to support the breeders of cattle.
