The UN Security Council postponed a vote on a draft resolution on Gaza for the third time

A vote on a UN Security Council resolution on a ceasefire to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza has been postponed for the third time due to disagreements among council members.

"The UN needs more discussions on the draft resolution and it takes more time, so it was postponed until tomorrow," Ecuador's Permanent Representative Jose de la Gasca said.

"If the parties do not reach an agreement, they will put the bill to a vote. They will have all the impact and they want to see a bill that will make a difference in the arena," UAE Permanent Representative Lana Nusaybi told reporters.

"Diplomacy takes time, but the situation is such that there are many pains and we have to overcome them," she said.

"We have confidence in the UN mechanisms and we believe they can play a role," she said.

According to UN sources, the United States has not yet agreed to some texts in the bill and is rumored to be against aid reaching the region under UN supervision.
