The Kurdistan Islamic Union Elections Foundation announces that the Kurdistan Islamic Union continues its firm positions regarding the necessity of holding the sixth session of the Kurdistan parliamentary elections on the specified date.

The Kurdistan Islamic Union Elections Foundation said on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, in a statement, “The Kurdistan Islamic Union was never in favor of postponing the elections, and it proved that in practice, and it was the first bloc to withdraw from the Kurdistan Parliament against extending its term.”

ِAdded, "We consider the elections as a constitutional right and a political entitlement for the Kurdish people and the only way to restore the legal legitimacy of state institutions."

Added that the Islamic Union is ready for the elections and opposes any attempt to postpone the elections.
