The leader of the rule of law coalition says "We have heard that the Kurdistan Region Presidency issued a decision to postpone the elections,".

Nuri al-Maliki, the leader of the rule of law coalition, told a news conference in Baghdad on Sunday that "A committee is working on the issue of the Kurdistan parliamentary elections and they have heard that the Kurdistan Region Presidency issued a decision to postpone the elections until after October this year."

"setting a date for holding the Kurdistan Parliament elections is in the authority of the Presidency of the Kurdistan Region," he said.

About the salaries of the Kurdistan Region employees, Maliki said "Sending the salaries will continue".

"We must resolve the issues in accordance with the constitution and we are trying to find solutions to the issues and I am optimistic," he said.
