The United States and Iran are meeting secretly in a Gulf country

The United States and Iran held a new round of indirect security meetings in a Gulf country on Wednesday, a senior source in Iran's Supreme National Security Council said.

The meeting discussed measures to calm the regional situation and Tehran's role in calming the situation in Gaza in exchange for reviving the previously unwritten nuclear agreement between Tehran and Washington, Kuwait's Al-Jareda newspaper reported Monday.

It said Wednesday's meeting was only for each side to present its demands and then read the demands of the other, then reach an agreement and respond to the demands in another meeting.

It said the two sides agreed on the need to continue their meetings, and the US side proposed to the Iranian delegation to return to the previous agreement reached in the Sultanate of Oman.

"The terms of the nuclear deal require Tehran to stop enriching uranium at more than 3.67 percent and comply with all the restrictions set by the deal, while Washington suspends sanctions against Iran without any official announcement," it said Both sides are trying to build an atmosphere of mutual trust.

It said the US side has called on Tehran to put pressure on its allies to stop the attacks, especially in the Red Sea. They also called for support for Egypt's project to defuse the situation between Israel and Hezbollah in southern Lebanon.

In addition, the US delegation has asked Iran to cooperate with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and open its doors to nuclear inspectors.

The Iranian delegation made it clear that Washington must end its unlimited support for Israel and take steps to take control of Tel Aviv to reduce military developments in the region or they accept a solution to the Palestinian issue that "wins the consent of the Palestinian people".

On southern Lebanon, the Iranian delegation warned that if Israel tries to occupy southern Lebanon, Iran will not remain silent and will make every effort to thwart the Israeli attack; "The Americans and Israelis must know that Hezbollah is Tehran's main ally," they said.
