IAEA: Iran has weeks to get enough enriched uranium to make an atomic bomb

The director-general of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) says Iran has weeks to obtain enough enriched uranium to make an atomic bomb.

IAEA Director-General Rafael Grossi said Tuesday that Iran has weeks, not months, to obtain enough enriched uranium to make an atomic bomb.

In February, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) said Iran's enriched uranium stockpile was about 30 times higher than the permitted level.

"This does not mean that Tehran will have nuclear weapons during this period," Grossi said.

"Iran's current nuclear goals are unclear and can only be predicted," he said, adding that the IAEA has always supported talks between Iran and the United States.
