Iraqi Environment Minister Nizar Amedi said Baghdad will host a regional conference on climate challenges next May.
Nizar Amedi told Al-Iraqiyya television channel that Iraq is one of the countries most affected by the effects of climate change and said "Iraq became a member of the Paris Agreement and submitted a document to participate in addressing climate challenges.
"We have a good strategy that includes plans and solutions to combat climate change," he said.
He added that the issue of environment and climate is not limited to the Ministry of Environment, but everyone should cooperate in this regard.
Iraqi Environment Minister Nizar Amedi said they are now preparing to participate in the COP 29 climate summit to be held in Azerbaijan.
