The Federal Court will meet on two issues related to the Kurdistan Region

The Federal Court will hear two cases related to the Kurdistan Region, one of which was filed by the Iraqi Minister of Migration and Refugees.

The Iraqi Federal Supreme Court is scheduled to meet tomorrow (Sunday, May 31, 2023) on two cases related to the Kurdistan Region.

The first lawsuit was filed by Kurdish MP Nehro Mahmoud against the Iraqi prime minister and oil minister, demanding the cancellation of a decision of the Iraqi Council of Ministers, which set the price of a liter of kerosene for citizens of the Kurdistan Region at 500 dinars and 250 dinars.

The Kurdish MP called for the commitment to the constitution, which enshrines equality among Iraqi citizens, according to the price of a liter of kerosene for Iraqi citizens at 150 dinars for citizens of the Kurdistan Region.

The second complaint filed by the Iraqi Minister of Migration and Refugees against the Kurdistan Region is related to the issue of returning refugees from camps in the region to Iraqi cities until June 30 this year.
