The Democratic Party's non-participation in the Kurdistan elections threatens the region with division

Former Speaker of the Kurdistan Parliament said the Kurdistan Democratic Party's non-participation in the elections threatens to divide the region because it controls two provinces in terms of security, arms, and intelligence.

Yousef Mohammed, the former speaker of the Kurdistan parliament, told VOA: The KDP is pressing to secure its position in the elections before participating in the elections.

“I do not rule out their boycott of the elections, which will take the situation in the region to another stage" he added.

The former Speaker of the Kurdistan Parliament said the problem is not the KDP's non-participation. The problem is that a large zone of the Kurdistan Region, two provinces, is controlled by the party in terms of security, arms, and intelligence, without its participation, the Kurdistan Region will be completely divided.
