Maliki: A timetable should be set for the withdrawal of coalition forces from Iraq

Maliki said the withdrawal of US and international coalition forces from Iraq needs a timetable.

“Nuri al-Maliki, the leader of the rule of law coalition, received Alena Romanowski, the US ambassador to Iraq, and during the meeting, exchanged views on developments in the regional and international arena which are happening.

According to the statement, Maliki stressed the importance of strengthening relations with the United States and benefiting from it in various fields and expressed the hope that the visit of Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Sudani will contribute to strengthening the partnership, widening cooperation, and activating the Strategic Framework Agreement and establishing a time framework for the completion of the international coalition's mission in Iraq.

For her part, the US ambassador renewed her country's support for stability in Iraq and stressed the need to "continue to provide necessary assistance to Iraqis within the framework of the strategic framework agreement between the two countries.
