Erdogan will visit Erbil after Baghdad

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will visit Erbil next week as part of his visit to Iraq.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan told a news conference in Istanbul today that he will visit Baghdad next week and meet with Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Sudani and other officials.

"After our meetings in Baghdad, I will visit Erbil to discuss the issues between the central government and the Kurdistan Regional Government and several other issues related to Iraq and Turkey," he said.

According to reports, Erdogan's visit to Baghdad will be on Monday next week (22/4/2024), as expected, the most important topics of talks with (Mohammed Shia Sudani) are water, energy, trade, and coordination to eliminate terrorism between the two countries.

Last week, Erdogan said at a weekly meeting of the Council of Ministers in Ankara that he would visit Erbil after his meetings in Baghdad.

He said that Iraq asked them to resolve the issues of water, oil, and natural gas between the two sides, their steps will be in this direction, and make every effort to resolve the issues.
