The Islamic Resistance in Iraq (IR) said it has targeted an Israeli position in the Israeli city of Eilat in retaliation for massacres against Palestinian civilians.

"We have targeted an important Israeli target in the occupied city of Eilat with a drone," the Islamic Resistance said in a statement.

"This is in the second phase of the defense against the occupation and the victory of our people in the Gaza Strip," it said.

"The attack is also in retaliation for the massacres committed against civilians in Palestine, as well as Israeli violations of Iraqi sovereignty and targeting Popular Mobilisation military bases," the statement said.

Several powerful explosions occurred at the Kalso military base in Babylon province on Saturday morning, reportedly caused by bombings, while the US military and international coalition forces denied carrying out the bombing.
