The general census will be held in Iraq in November

The general census is scheduled to be held in November this year and 120,000 teachers and educational cadres will participate in the process.

Iraqi newspaper Al-Sabah reported "The Iraqi Ministry of Planning has set November as the date for the general census of population and residences".

It is also noted that "The census will be conducted in the field by 120,000 cadres of the Ministry of Education, and will be conducted in an experimental process next May".

"There is only six months left to conduct the general census in Iraq, which is scheduled to be held on November 20, there is still a lot of work to be done," Planning Minister Mohammed Tamim said.

He explained that "Work continues to conduct experimental population census in May, in addition to training those working in the process, which numbers an estimated (120) thousand employees and have agreed with the Ministry of Education to prepare teachers and educational cadres for the issue".

"Preparations for the counting and separation phase will take two months, before the census will be conducted in two months"he said.

This will be the first electronic census in Iraq, and may be the last, because the country will not need a census after that.
