Iraqi Hezbollah: Sudani is not serious about withdrawing US troops from Iraq

Iraqi Hezbollah militia strongly criticized the Iraqi government's plan to build a strategic development road project to transport goods from The Gulf to Turkey.

Hezbollah spokesman Abu Ali al-Askari told the Sharq Al-Awsat newspaper: That road is still a source of concern. What we want from the government is evidence to end all doubts before implementation.

The Iraqi government has begun implementing the project with Turkish assistance, while Baghdad has approved a field plan for the direction of the road.

In April, the Iraqi prime minister and Turkish president oversaw the signing of a quadrilateral memorandum of understanding with the UAE and Qatar to assist in the implementation of the development road project, considered the largest strategic project in the region.

Hezbollah spokesman also attacked the Iraqi government for not being serious about withdrawing US troops from Iraq.

The Iraqi prime minister met with the US deputy secretary of state on Wednesday to discuss dozens of agreements reached during his visit to Washington last month, Sudani's office said.
