People's Equality and Democracy Party spokesperson said that her party will announce its candidates for the mayoral elections, including the Istanbul mayoral election.

Ayşe Gül Doğan, People's Equality and Democracy Party spokesperson on Sunday, February 24, 2024 told a news conference "We have decided to run for the mayoral elections in Istanbul with our own candidate,".

She added that "the relevant agencies are making efforts to identify a candidate. By February 9, we will determine all our candidates, including Istanbul, and announce them to the public.”

She added that "Basak Demirtas and several other candidates are on the agenda. All of them will be evaluated and consultations will continue.”
