The US Central Command said: The casualty toll from the attack on our forces in Tower 22 in northeastern Jordan has risen to 34 soldiers.

Monday, December 29, 2024 - The US Central Command said in a statement that Eight wounded soldiers have been transferred from Jordan for medical treatment.

Iran's UN envoy has denied involvement in the attack, and the US president and other officials have said Iran is behind it and have promised to retaliate.

"Out of respect for families and in accordance with US Department of Defense policy, the identities of military personnel will be withheld for 24 hours after their close relatives are notified of the incident," it said.

Said the US Central Command would provide more information as necessary.

It houses about 350 US military and air force troops for missions, including supporting the international coalition against the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL).
