US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken will visit the Middle East this weekend

US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken will visit the Middle East later this week to discuss the situation in the Gaza Strip with senior officials, White House and State Department officials said in a statement.

The US Secretary of State will hold a series of meetings with senior officials in the Middle East.

Blinken will meet with senior regional officials to assess the situation in the region after the end of the war, as well as discuss how to manage Gaza at this stage and the delivery of humanitarian aid to the Palestinians in Gaza, as well as the issue of recognition establishment of an independent Palestinian state.

The State Department is expected to announce details of Anthony Blinken's visit to the region.

Since October 7, 2023, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken has visited the Middle East four times.

Israeli offensive against the Gaza Strip has continued for 118 days.
