February 7, 2024 - The DEM party announced in a statement: that in the event of any failure to reach an agreement on a coalition, the party will nominate its own candidate in each province and inform the public.

Added that the Istanbul issue is being evaluated differently because it is the most controversial.

"The presence of our comrades as candidates in the Istanbul mayoral elections gave more strength and will to our party, including Basak Demirtas, whose name is on the lists, will undoubtedly help our party," the statement said.

The DEM party said it would announce its candidate for Istanbul mayor in the future.
