The deadline for registering candidates for the sixth session of the Kurdistan Region parliamentary elections has been extended until March 31.

Jumana Ghalai, spokeswoman for the Iraqi High Election Commission, said: The extension of the deadline for receiving candidate lists for the Kurdistan parliamentary elections is to give more opportunities to political parties.

The extension comes at a time when today was supposed to be the deadline for registration of candidates.

The Kurdistan Region Presidency has announced that the parliamentary elections will be held on June 10, 2024.
